Private by architecture
Privacy, without the fine-print feeling.
Sweeply is built privacy-first. Your photos and videos never leave your device—everything happens locally.
Last updated · August 2026The short version
Sweeply does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data. We have no servers that receive your photos. We do not require an account. We do not track you. All photo analysis—finding duplicates, blurry shots, large files, and grouping photos by the people in them—runs entirely on your device.
Photos & Media Access
To help you clean up your library, Sweeply requests permission to access your photos and videos. This access is used only to display your media inside the app and to analyze it locally on your device. Your media is never uploaded, copied to any external server, or shared with us or any third party.
On-Device Processing
Duplicate detection, blur and closed-eye detection, face grouping, and file scanning are performed using computation that happens entirely on your phone. No image data, thumbnails, or derived signatures (such as perceptual hashes or face templates) are transmitted off the device.
Face Grouping (People)
People is off until you switch it on, and it is the only part of Sweeply that describes the people in your photos rather than the files. When you turn it on, Sweeply looks at each photo on this device and, for every face it finds, stores a list of numbers describing that face—a face template. It also records the date you turned the feature on.
This runs entirely on your device, using a face model built into the app. It works with no network connection at all. No photo, face, face template, name or group is ever uploaded, to us or to anyone else, and there is no server for it to be uploaded to.
A face template is not a photo and cannot be turned back into one. Sweeply does not know who anyone is: it groups faces that look alike and you choose whether to put a name to a group. Names you type stay on this device with everything else.
You can turn People off at any time, from the People screen or from Settings → Privacy. Turning it off deletes every face template, name and group stored on this device. Your photos are never altered or deleted by this feature, and uninstalling the app removes all of it as well.
Data We Store
Sweeply stores a small amount of information locally on your device only: your app preferences and your premium purchase status (so the app remembers you have upgraded). This data stays on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app.
Deleting Photos
When you delete photos or videos through Sweeply, the files are moved to your device or operating system trash/recycle bin, following the platform’s standard behavior. Sweeply cannot recover files once your device permanently removes them. Please review your selections carefully before confirming a deletion.
Purchases
The one-time premium upgrade is processed by your platform’s app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) through RevenueCat, which manages the purchase and restore process. Sweeply never sees or stores your payment details. Please refer to your app store’s privacy policy for how payment information is handled.
Redeeming a Code
If you unlock premium with a redemption code, that code and a random identifier created for your installation are sent to our licensing server so the code can be checked and counted against its limit. That identifier is not your name, email, phone number, or any advertising ID—it is a random value generated on your device, and it is gone if you uninstall. No photo, video, or file data is ever part of this exchange, and nothing is sent at all unless you choose to redeem a code.
No Tracking or Analytics
Sweeply contains no advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics, and no tracking or profiling of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and we have nothing to sell to advertisers.
Children’s Privacy
Sweeply is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because we do not collect personal data from anyone, we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the revised version will be included in a future app update and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
